One of my personal favourites, and something I really enjoy making at home without the guilt that can come with a takeaway! This healthier, vegan version will please everybody, plant and meat eaters alike.. so what are you waiting for?!
Go and find these things:
Vegan beef alternative (I am using Alt. beefless pieces, but you can find equally delicious versions is most large supermarkets now.. mushrooms also make a great substitution) sesame oil, black bean sauce (read the label and check it is vegan), maple syrup, black pepper, diced red onion, diced peppers
Add 2 tsp sesame oil to a pan over a medium heat. Add the diced onion and peppers and fry until softened and slightly brown. Then add your chosen beef alternative and 2 tsp maple syrup, fry for a further 2-3 minutes until browned.
Add 3-4 tbsp of black bean sauce along with a splash of hot water and 2 tsp of ground black pepper. Coat everything in the black bean sauce and cook through until thickened and sticky and delicious
THAT'S IT! How quick and easy was that?! now go and eat some delicious food, you lucky swine
